Guidelines for Presentations

Congratulations! You are going to present a paper at SEPOC 2024 in Santa Maria. 

The SEPOC committee wishes you good luck with your preparation! 

Much of the preparatory work will focus on small details. Consequently, do not underestimate the time this will take. 

These notes have been written to help you. 

Important: To be indexed in the conference proceedings, all accepted papers must be presented. Papers that are not presented will not be published. 

Author’s Checklist (presentation): 

  1. a) At home
  • prepare the presentation in the English language; 
  • try out the presentation; 
  • be aware that you have a limited time of 10 minutes for your presentation, plus 5 minutes for discussions; 
  1. b) 15 minutes before the session
  • go to the presentation room; 
  • meet the session chairman and/or the staff; 
  1. c) At the session
  • speak slowly and as simply as possible; 
  • stick to the time limit; 
  • the papers can be presented in Portuguese or English (highly recommended). 

Author’s Checklist (online presentation): 

  1. a) At home
  • prepare the presentation in the English language; 
  • try out the presentation; 
  • Record yourself presenting the paper (10 min maximum). Papers can be presented in Portuguese or English (highly recommend). 
  • Upload your recorded video in Youtube as an unlisted video. 
  1. b) 15 minutes before the session
  • go to the presentation room (online – link sent by the organization); 
  • meet the session chairman and/or the staff; 
  1. c) At the session
  • Your recorded presentation will be transmitted by the session chair. 
  • After de video, you will have five minutes to answer the audience questions;
